Tempozan Harbor Village

Tempozan Harbor Village is a waterfront complex centered around the Tempozan Giant Ferris Wheel — at 112.5 metres, one of the tallest in the world. A single rotation takes 15 minutes and offers sweeping views over Osaka Bay, the city skyline, and on clear days, all the way to Mt. Ikoma and Awaji Island. Transparent-floor gondolas are available for the brave.

The adjacent Tempozan Marketplace houses shops, restaurants, and a food court replicating a nostalgic 1960s Osaka streetscape. Nearby, the tiny Tempozan Park surrounds what was once Japan's lowest mountain (4.53 metres) — climbing it takes seconds, but you can collect an official "summit" certificate. It's an amusingly humble counterpoint to the gleaming attractions around it.

Tip
Ride the Ferris wheel at sunset for the best photos — bay turns golden. Combine with Kaiyukan (next door) for a half-day outing. The food court's retro Osaka streetscape is fun for photos.
